JB didn't get famous through lots of Disney promotion and merchandising. He actually worked for his fame. Not saying he's gonna be around forever, just that there's a difference between it when you're advertising yourself and being advertised by a tv station.

His mom posted a video of him singing on Youtube and a music manager accidently saw his video, he was like the millions of other children who have posted a singing video for the hell of it and from that he was an instant teen sensation because of a random Youtube viewer. He did not have to do anything but get lucky and from there everything was done for him to become a public teen icon overnight. In the music industry work involves playing minimal gigs, garage bands, and being shot down by label companies then getting back up on your feet and working your way up from there. Justin Beiber has not done any work he simply got lucky.

I feel like everything you just said only applies to rock bands....because a lot of rock bands nowadays sound the same.
