Who else here plays and instrument and should be practising right NOW!
Because I am procrastinating getting on the piano and struggling to get motivation. Maybe some people have tips on how they get themselves into the PRACTISE ZONE haha. Or we can just share about how we should all be practising so nobody feels alone
Im working on Grade 6 piano as well as grade 4 classical voice.
I can't play any instrument to save my life, hahah. my brother gave me a flute for christmas for some reason, so I sold it for like $75. could hardly make it produce any sound
I play the violin and have definitely been where you are right now. I would always just convince myself I wouldn't get any better if I didn't practice and that I can't be arrogant and think that I'm already good enough, lol. This was kinda rare though, since I love to play instruments. Whenever I didn't practice and had a concert, I always felt nervous and not confident which would obviously negatively alter my playing, in addition to not being super familiar with the music.
Or you can just listen to the lead singer of Green Day regarding practice: (or Allen Iverson, LOL)
"Practice makes perfect. But nobody's perfect, so why practice?"
Also thought that quote was funny, lol.
I've recently been starting out on piano myself, and love to sing as well. If you;re just starting out, it can definitely be discouraging, but playing everyday, imo, is important to progression since you don't want to keep losing the skills you are gaining, if that makes sense. Kinda like the guitar too, I've recently also started on that and haven't had a lot of time to practice so I keep forgetting how to play the most simplest chords, lol, It's really all about muscle memory. Sometimes I always make excuses like I'm just too busy to keep up with it, but if you really want to be the best you can be and really love what you are doing, like playing the piano and singing, just try and make time and keep at it, it's definitely rewarding and worth it.
Sorry about my rambling... lool
Aura loves me ♥

I play trumpet & euphonium.
tbh I gotta play some fun music before practicing. xD that's how I get into the groove of it
it's always neat to find print-out sheets of music online and just try 'em, sometimes beautiful things happen.
