How many players would you guess Neopets still has? (not including botters lol)

There are lots of people who play neo solely for the games. They don't interact or really do much of anything but play the games and acquire neopoints. When you think of how many different aspects there are in the game and how each group has their own super active bunch of people, the numbers add up quick. Id say 10,000 per month would be conservative.

I never actually considered this factor, only because I haven't done this in years. Thanks for that viewpoint - I'd definitely up the number from my original estimate.

Of all the many amazing things Neopets offers, chat isn't one of them. Very few modern sites can boast permanently banning users for saying "seaweed."

It is still so amazing to me that the filter doesn't have any flexibility on words. Like, in this day and age (honestly, even back then), we had the technology to ban the word "rape" without banning "grape". It was probably just an oversight in early coding that never got fixed, and for some reason no one has ever gone back to fix it.

There are many things which are sort of given up by TNT. I believe the Neofriends online status has been in beta ever since like... 5years back (or more?)? Their direction was towards games and new pet colours and stuff back then. Not so sure about now though.
