JS should just accept that Neopets is totally for adults now tbh

I mean, wasn't Neo primarily structured towards adults when it came out anyways? Then they saw, "oh hey, kids totally like this shit, lets profit" and changed it to a "kids" site, and it definitely was for a long time.

Today, though, the userbase is shit in numbers compared to say, 2005 or something. There was a thread on the AC yesterday, asking how old you were when you started and how old you are now, and literally like everyone was 20+ at this point. I doubt there is a significant amount of the userbase that are actually 17-18 or under anymore, and even less that would be 13 or under.

I propose that even though JS is a kids company, they need to just give up. They'e trying to push the kid thing and it's just not working for them. Make Neopia Great Again!

By "adult", I don't necessarily mean people RPing baby neopet porn on the avatar chat (though, maybe a new board for that if people seriously want it? who knows!). It would be nice to be like "when will the FUCKIN GREY FAERIE give me a fountain dip already gotdamn" or, yknow, be able to say advertisement and seaweed on the boards again. You could have more flexibility on how you talk to people, and you could tell someone "hey you can still buy the trading card packs on ebay for the space faerie bro" without getting muted and if you want a discord for your guild, by golly gee go right ahead because you're an ADULT, man!

(also, those kinky customizations and galleries won't get you banned anymore )

Would this be a good idea, y/n? What other things could change if Neopets was now an "adult" site?

you have bugs in your code? sounds yummy.

They are well aware that most of the players are adults. They want to freeze people for very minor offenses so they justify it by being a family friendly site. The more accounts they ice the more money they make. That's why they put retards like Tony and Rico in charge of the freeze button

As if kids nowadays don't spend all their time on the internet, hearing Pewdiepie or Game Grumps say "fucking" constantly.

I do believe boards and restrictions should be split evenly between 17+ and younger. Maybe implement an actual algorithm so people who were 12 back in 2004 aren't still considered 12 today.

While I totally agree that TNT should stop treating us/acting like we're all still in middle school I don't see any changes being made while Neo is owned by Jump Start.

I believe if changes were going to be made then Neo needs to be owned by a company that has no ties to children. It's pretty much public knowledge that JS owns Neo but JS makes all these programs/games for children so if they let us do more adult things on Neo and it goes bad that might badly reflect on their main business.

When JS bought Neo they did mention that they were interested in the "older" user base but I assume that meant they were just interested in our money?

I agree. They should let us say what we want and we should be allowed to reference outside sites.
They also need to take a fucking chill pill on people buying and selling things offsite. Yeah it might be unfair, but it's literally one of the only things keeping the site going.
I can understand them cracking down on other cheating things, like score senders and such.

But they honestly need to stop freezing everyone. They're going to lose their entire user base. I know that if I got frozen again, there's no way in hell I'd restart at this point. Maybe if it was 2 years ago, but not anymore.
Unless that's what they want. Maybe they just wanna drive everyone away so they can shut the site down with as little backlash as possible. But I don't see why they'd want that, since they bought the site pretty recently.

I would imagine with all the offsite buying/selling that the site doesn't really bring in much more money than it costs to run. Idk, that's just a guess on my part.

Also, It's been mentioned before but JS could of bought Neo just to have rights to the characters/art and will eventually implement that into their games/programs. I'm sure they'll milk the site for all they can before completely shutting it down.

They have the tools to see what the average age would be for their user traffic.

They should allow swearing/etc., like most forums/pet sites do now. I'd love to drop a few F-bombs on some of the boards I see lol

JS won't ever cater to their older players just bc of their brand imo. Viacom had the chance and blew it so I would think that would only happen if JS were to sell and maybe not even then. It's hard to get rid of the stigma that Neo is for kids simply bc the people who keep buying the site don't have the connection to it that we do.

I think it's actually nice that they keep the language kid-friendly lol
    it's relaxing

But I agree that we should be able to reference offsite (if it makes sense too)
I once got warned for using "poogle" *rolls eyes*
