Gotta love your neighbors sometimes

I used to call the cops on my neighbours for their shitty music at unreasonable times. Just because they were shift workers doesn't mean it's ok for them to blast country at 3am.

This. It's never a good time to blast country. You did the right thing alerting the authorities.

My situation with one of my neighbours is different. On one side of my house, the neighbours are pretty nosy. They seem to know everything that happens whenever I walk outside of my door...

I have dealt with multiple morons in my building who did the loud music nights. What worked in my case is not pounding on their door, but befriending our building landlord/supervisor. We did knock on doors before abd politely asked them to turn music down but after I realized that is very dangerous to do since people who obviously do not follow rules are sketchy if approached to follow the rules. So no more of that. But being tight with the building manager worked like a charm. As soon as I had a complaint she was there knocking in 10 minutes.

Only one of about 5 noisemakers is now left, right next door to our apartment. He plays his East Indian Bollywood music LOUD. The young fucknut of a guy has had other people on the floor, all the way down the hall not just us, knock on their door to shut them up. The music is pounding almost all times of the day he is home and it carries to the end of the hall. Get off the elevator and you can hear it. But since our rental company was bought out we have new "staff" to respond to complaints. We have called them enough about Mr Bollywood that the last knock on the door resulted in yelling loud enough we heard the words "turn it down from now on or you will be served with an eviction notice". No bad noise since that yelling.

I am prepared to call the cops the next time he plays loud music at night though. Having that eviction notice is reason enough for me to call in more authority.


It simply astounds me when people act as though rules do not apply though. You sign a lease it specifically says no noise after X time. It is not your fucking house so obey their rules.

I'd leave a note first then fight with fire. At least give them the opportunity to be "responsible" citizens in society.

My neighbors race lawn mowers so there's no way I can fight fire with them...but they at least wait until 10 a.m. now to be rednecks.

I thought they were done for the weekend, but nope. Starting to get a headache today. They must have found some new songs. I can't tell if they are watching a movie, maybe playing video games, or listening to music. Whichever it is though... damn.

I'm definitely not one to call the cops though. The cops wouldn't even be able to into the building without a key fob haha. I will stick a little note in the elevator though.

"Whoever is playing some killer beats on the second floor.... please turn the bass down a bit or invite me over to enjoy"
