So the premise of this show is that 10 people are stranded on an island with nothing except $100,000 (to start with- they get another $100,000 for each new camp site they reach in a certain time limit). Anything they might want/need costs a butt-load, like a 2-man tent is $30,000. Whomever is left after 40 days splits whatever prize money is left.
It airs on MTV, which made me wary because I was half-expecting some shitty teenage party-fest Spring Break sort of thing. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it is not like this at all. On the contrary, it truly shows how fucked up people are.
Don't open the spoiler if you don't want it spoiled. Inside the spoiler includes the highlights of the show so far, and what I mean about how it shows how fucked up people are.
Has anyone else been watching this?
Sounds great, I'm really curious about the show now, but I think it will be launched later from where I come from...
Thanks for the heads up! I haven't heard of the show but will be looking out for it now!
I don't think I'll watch it, but I'm having a great time reading the (you need an account to see links). I was just starting episode five, but had to take a break for Pretty Little Liars (my personal favorite guilty pleasure show).
Awesome! The concept sounded super interesting but I was worried that it was on MTV. Guess I'll give it a try since it sounds like it's not the typical MTV show.
OMG thank you so much for this post (or maybe not, since I should be investing more time into focusing on studying for my classes lol)! I love watching Survivor and trashy reality TV in general (I'm a junkie!), so this sounds right up my alley. I actually had no idea this show existed, I'm going to have to check it out now
I actually love this show! I thought it was just gonna end up being a Survivor rip-off but it's quite interesting!
(Not)THE REAL TONY P.
NOTE: My spoilers are ACTUAL SPOILERS (I even triple spoilered them so you hopefully don't accidentally see them), open at your own discretion!
Stranded With a Million Dollars, the game where you compete to see who is the shittiest human being in the country. In sum, I like Survivor a lot better. This concept was nice in theory because the winners get to split the prize money, but in practice this was a complete shit-show. The MTV producers probably intentionally cast a decent number of belligerent, irresponsible, and quite frankly stupid people to make the show more dramatic and interesting to watch.
If you enjoy witnessing drama unfold, watching shit get stirred, and losing faith in humanity, then this is probably the show for you
I just watched the first episode.
