I can't open .py python files keeps crashing

I'm on a Mac, here's the problem

I am using virtualbox with windows 10 64bit
I can't even get bootcamp to work with windows 10 because it just boots into this error recovery mode where I can't do anything (because I don't have an optical drive/DVD???)

So anyway virtualbox is my only (free) option right
I downloaded python 3.6.1 for 64 and the required library files
but it crashes before it opens

why is this happening and what can I do to fix it?

Python works on Macs, so you don't need to use a VM to get it to work.
Which program are you trying to use it for? I'm not sure about all Python programs, but programs like Daviid's work in Python 2.7 so maybe try installing that version from (you need an account to see links)?

As @(you need an account to see links) said you need 2.7, at least for my programs.

If you execute the programs through a terminal it won't close and you'll see the error.
