I'm with Aura on this. Poutine is cheese curds and gravy on chips. It is life and tastes nothing like Chili cheese fries. I love poutine and I hate chili cheese fries.

Nacho cheese over cheese curds? No way.

So here in Colorado, we have these delicious gems:


I really don't know any restaurant here that does chili cheese fries; just green chili cheese fries...which beats Poutine allllll day, and I love poutine. Though maybe if I try non-American poutine I could be swayed to the dark side.

They are built similarly, but the way they are assembled is different and the flavor profile along with the texture while consuming are very different.
