I hate horror movies after watching Final Destination 2 when I was 11. That movie just shocked me for life ._.

You should try The Others. It's very creepy with virtually no jump scare or gore. But it can totally freak you out. An oldie but a goodie.

Shutter's a scary movie! The thailand version of course.

I always thought thailand horror films are the scariest! Especially stories which are very close to things that will happen in real life. Maybe it's just got to do with me living in an asia country! lol!

kind of an old thread lol... but if you want a scary movie in the future, Lake Mungo is a good one. best to go into it pretty blind to what the movie is about. it's slow and psychological, and there's a particular scene i always suddenly think about at the worst times and scare myself

Is that the one where the guy weighed himself and the scale read something ridiculously heavy? Later when they revealed why, it was totally freaky!! (Don't want to spoil the movie, lol)

I know it's a staple, but It Follows was great! It had some jump scare moments, but the atmosphere of the whole film makes you feel uncomfortable, on edge, and scared.

I second It Follows! I adore that movie - aside from being a genuinely unnerving horror film, it's got fantastic cinematography and a solid synth soundtrack. I really don't get scared by movies easily, but that movie actually had me looking over my shoulder for at least a week after watching it for the first time.

The VVitch is one of my favorite horror films to be released in the past year. It's a period piece that goes hard at being historically accurate and it's kind of a slow burn, but it's visceral and intense without having a lot of gore (If I remember correctly, though, I think the very first scene of the movie might be uh.. kind of very bloody and gory? It's very brief and it's pretty much the only real instance of gore in the film. I think I might rewatch it this week and I could provide content warnings if you're interested in seeing it.)

I got creeped out by House of 1000 corpses, that Rob Zombie film.

And for some reason I still cannot watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Not the old version but the one in the 2000's. Can't finish it lol.
