I'm in the mood for a good scary movie. Nothing with too much gore though

The Strangers - I thought this was very well done and it's not all about cheap jump scares

I'm not too big into jump scares either, I feel like those are cheap ways to make a movie "scary."
Im interested in hearing what others suggest!

If I had to think of a classic, it would be Misery. The terror comes from Annie's bipolar changes in mood, and you are like Paul, sitting there and waiting for what she's going to do next.

to be honest i'm not easily scared by most horror films so i'll be interested to see others' recommendations. all i can recall is donnie darko messed my teenage self up - but that was mainly surrealism/unreality getting to me and not so much pure horror, or monsters and the like.

You're Next is one of the greatest thrillers in my opinion.

Love the ending to the first one, a bit chilling. I didn't get it at first until someone explained it to me.

REC (Spanish version) was pretty good but may be a bit too gory. I've seen so many thrillers, this was one of the first that I find somewhat uncanny.

When i was 8 years old the movie that really stuck to me was "Darkness Falls"

Nowadays, i say "Silent Hill" takes the cake still
in the end no one ever knew what the outcome would be. So I guess you have to do your best to make a decision that you wont regret.
