For me the best way to beat boredom is catching up with my tv shows & movies, spending time on neo/FR and coloring, strangely.

World of Warcraft. I never get tired of the things to do in the game probably because I enjoy lore so much in the storytelling as well as player vs player mechanics. Then there's the books to support the lore though I also have a good collection of Magic the Gathering books, other series books.

Then I spend a ton of time on wikipedia binges/youtube learning videos/reading published papers/working on personal programming projects. Really, when I get bored, I get the itch to learn something but I still spend a fair amount of time in games/fiction books.
