Looking to take pictures like these?
No, you don't need a special camera or lens. I simply took these with my phone. You just need the right setup.
Step 1. Practice composition.
One of my personal favorite ways to practice composing photos is going to a random street view site like this. It's an easy way to practice positioning a camera and getting some nice practice shots.
Step 2. Find Nearby locations.
It can be as easy as crossing the street for some! 2 of the photos above I've taken were just in my neighborhood. You just need to capture that perfect time!
Step 3. Go on hikes.
For the picture of kettle pond, I went on a one mile hike. It may seem like a stretch, but you can truly get some amazing pictures if you step out of your comfort zone
Step 4. Wait for a certain weather pattern.
Waiting for the snowy picture of mine took FOREVER, but the moment of the first snowfall, I jumped into action. You need patience to get the perfect photo.
Step 5. Travelling is the best time to get pictures.
Who knows? You may never see the perfect storm over the beach again. Always have a camera ready.
Don't be shy! I will answer as many questions as I can with my limited knowledge.
