    About thread rating

Well, first of all, I'm 99% sure that the rating on a thread (you know, the stars you can put on an specific one in order to give it a rating) doesn't really have any significant impact overall in the forum (correct me if I'm wrong though) but lately I noticed, since I spend a good amount of time lurking on the Neopets Trades section of cK, that many recent and active threads have been rated with 1 star by somebody. Even selling threads made just 3 days ago and that haven't had any sells yet, so it can't be of an angry customer or anything. This, as I said, doesn't really have a significant impact but if some casual buyer lurks and sees that a thread has a 1 star rating, they might choose to go to someone else's despite it all... which I don't know who is doing it, or if someone believes that rating other's threads badly will give them less competence, but either way, sounds like a pretty childish shitty thing to do IMO.

Now, my question is, is there any way that ratings could be done publicly, being able to see who left such rating if you're the owner of the thread? You know, to at least ask the person what could be changed in order to improve the service ...or can that be done already by staff? Would be great to address this with the person rating 7 shops with "Terrible" rating on the exact same day.

    Where is the star rating??

And honestly, this might be just me, I shop by ck user rating and if I know you.
I figured everyone had a favorite person. Or hell, just if the seller had an item or service they wanted.

It's on the title when browsing a section of the forum, on the right you can check some of them have it:

And I agree, I do think it can have influence on new buyers though, that don't know the users and are taking in count every detail to make the decision to pick a seller Also, I'm kind on annoyed that someone would go out of their way to mass rate lowly other people's shops

Even staff can't see who's rated a thread. I've tried looking before for it, too, lol. Joe probably can, though.
I agree with that, though. It's not exactly pressing but I think someone's going around and 1-star-ing some threads to be a pain lol.

Yeah don't go giving star ratings on brand new posts like that. If you have a favorite seller then you can give positive feedback but do not go 1-star rating other sellers to cause trouble or to downplay others.

tbh i just ignore it anyways :Y i'm looking for what i want on here, not what some annoying kid who one-stars everything wants

but that would be a good feature for the shop owners to be able to see who left those ratings, like being able to see who left you feedback.

For me to see who rated something would be a hassle (going into the database of this forum and searching...), so there is no easy way to show anyone who rated what. I am considering removing the rating feature entirely as it can be abused.

That's annoying LOL mine were 1 star too.

I don't care regardless as anyone who uses this forum knows I'm reputable.. if they don't I wouldn't want to do business with them anyways. (ie new members I don't mind doing birthday cracks for but I prefer not to sell accounts/pets or whatever until a few user feedbacks are made).

But I do see how it can lead people the wrong way when we already have an iTrader system which really does more justice than something anyone can "rate".

It'd probably be for the best. It's not like it's really used as an important indicator of anything, anyway.
