Don't see what that changes, once you've punched the clown and he has no intention of fighting back you've made your point (don't dress as a clown to scare people if there's hysteria and bad rumors about it) , if you keep beating then you're just as bad as the clown or worse.

Sure, me too, people go and do stupid shit like trespassing or damaging properties because "it's Halloween" or "it's just a prank", if people just had common sense...
