Step One: Think of a reason As soon as those sirens kick on, start thinking! You have a few options, so don't panick. You can be upfront and honest, have some long winded detailed lie, or just go with the basic lie (such as a family emergency or if you can pull it off, you're in labor).
Someone I know was driving to the hospital because his mother's condition was going downwards, he got hold up by the police and told them thy could give him any ticket they want if he could leave to get to the hospital asap.
The police felt bad and the escorted him! to the hospital and they didnt give him an ticket.
They went with him to the entrance (probably to see if he was really telling the truth) and wished him good luck...
    True story.
His mother died a few hours later

The real way of getting out of a ticket.

Never admit what your speed. ever. By doing so, you admit guilt.

If the officer asks you: "What speed do you think you were going"
And you answer, trying to be honest "About 5miles over.."

You lost. You admitted to speeding. How much you went over doesn't matter, you went over the limit.

The only ways to get out of a ticked is:

    1. Cop doesn't show up for court.
    2. Radar isn't calibrated

Always remember it's your word vs the word of an officer of law.

    Here is a good video.

the only real way to get out of a ticket is to not get caught in the first place, once you see the lights/hear the siren, you had better expect the ticket/jail time/arrest/whatever you have coming i know this as a personal fact i have been pulled over twice for speeding, one time i went to jail for having a headlight out, and speeding, and not wearing a seat belt and having an outstanding warrant, all at the same time, because i wanted to speed the gf home from work

the next time was a few years later, i was doing about 11 over the limit, trying to get home from work myself, and had my seatbelt on, both headlights worked, etc etc, and the cop let me off with a warning, even though i didn't have a drivers license or insurance

it all depends on how the cop is feeling, who the cop is, what kind of day they have had, how they are feeling, and what you do, so if you hear the siren, or see the lights, be prepared for you punishment no matter what
just report it and ignore it.

Oh I agree, you should always expect it since you were in the wrong but there are instances and tricks on how to get out of them. Perhaps these only work so well for me because a.) I am female and b.) I live in a tiny little town where everyone knows everyone lol.

I think there is other things they can pin you for when you try to get out of a ticket. Lieing would be obstructing I believe so that is another charge. I think having attitude also falls into some other category. Small towns you can probably get away with stuff from knowing the cops but the bigger cities you are basically getting a ticket unless the cop is having a good day and lets you off with a warning. As for being a girl it is not like a cop has not seen a girl try to flaunt something to get her way so the cop may write the ticket even quicker as an "yeah had this done before now move on" type response.

    ^that

if you lie, and the cop finds out, that's obstruction of justice (i've had that charge a couple times before, carries about 6 months in jail+1000$ fine), or if you continually do it, then they can take ya downtown and permanently remove your license, or if you try flirting with the cop, and you even so much as touch them, that's assault on a police officer, even if you just lightly touch their arm, or if you show too much cleavage, or other skin, then that can be construed as public indecency, and that's about a year + 5k in fines?

however, different cities/states carry different fines/jail times for the offences
just report it and ignore it.

My bf is going through the process to becoming a cop, I cannot wait to hear of all the stories from him of people trying to get out of tickets lol. Especially the kids who think they are above the law. It is very simple, act proper and follow the rules and there is no reason to be charged with anything.
