    Kangaroos are scary

    By now I'm sure most of you might already seen that viral video of a kangaroo trying to go through a window all creepy and stuff?

    Until I saw it, I didn't realize how muscular and tough kangaroos can be, quite scary.
    I've never seen one in real life, or maybe yes, but only really small ones at the zoo? Nothing like this one.

    I know we have several Australians around, do you guys have any kangaroo story to share?

    They're super delicious, yes. Very lean meat.
    Even the ones in zoos are often large and, while not aggressive, assertive. When I look my American in-laws to feed roos, one was very insistent on holding my hand. If I'd try to back away, he'd hold on tighter. I had some killer claw imprints on my hands when he finally decided I was allowed to go.

    They're really dumb with traffic though. Touch wood we haven't hit one since 2012, but back then we hit 2 in 4 hours. Prudent car buyers out here consider how well it'll handle a roo collision.

    makes me think of how people here always underestimate the terror that is the Canada Goose. @(you need an account to see links)___@
    (you need an account to see links)

    And the worst part is they used to be (might still be?) protected, so you really couldn't do anything. Like the guy in this video, if he were in our region, would be arrested for endangering a protected animal.

    What should I do if one of those beasts attacks me? ;_;
    Scream and run?

    Basically, lol. I mean you could try to look big and tough but if that doesn't work you've wasted precious escape time.

    I remember back when I was in high school, a pair of these geese nested in the little plant areas in the walk-in area in front of the movie theater. The papa goose would attack everyone who tried to walk in or out of the theater, the poor children. If it had been any other animal they would have relocated the nest, but since they were protected they had to make a "Caution Tape" zone around the nest and send out email warnings to their customers about how to try to avoid being attacked or bitten.
    rip.
