Presidential Debate: Thoughts on Trump winning?

Being Canadian, I am not really 100% up to date with the US politics but I'm trying to educate myself and I read the news on it daily. Whoever wins presidency will definitely have an impact on Canada so yea, I believe its important to know whats happening. Moreso, I want to center in on Trump and get your thoughts. I'm not making this board to debate whether Trump is great or not, just thoughts on what would happen if Trump actually wins?

    My thoughts:
As much as he's trying to be impartial about the whole racism thing, there's a lot of evidence towards Trump actually being a racist himself, being compared to a modern day Hitler. I read somewhere that he has family ties to the KKK, and likewise, the KKK is behind Trump. I think he actually wants a "american america" meaning he really doesn't want immigrants to come to the US anymore, as he has said through "building walls, etc" (I'm very against this, and I'm sure he could get US out of debt in another way). His reasons for this are the debt that US has, and I think he moreso wants to run the US as a business. This is going to be a lot different from the successful running of Obama, and it says a lot that Obama doesn't think Trump should win.

Another thing is the violence at Trump rallys. There's also a degree of violence but recently I have seen a lot of videos of Trump actually promoting violence, "If you see someone with a tomato, punch them in the face. Ill pay for the legal fees, believe me". This creates a lot of unneeded hostility at rallys. It makes me think that Trump may just win for a popularity vote which is realistically not good for the country. Look at Toronto with Rob Ford. Of course Ford did make some positive changes and did most of the things he said he was going to, but he actually got voted in for being a ridiculous crack addict eventually. Even when he was like in rehab and drunk publicly, he almost won office again.

Overall though, Trump WILL make the chances needed to probably help the US, but at what cost? I sort of think he has some sort of a hidden agenda here.

    What do you guys think?

Trump is one of the smartest economist I have ever seen personally, but he does act like an idiot and berates other people who are running. I will not be voting for him but I could see how other people would EXCLUDING all the idiot southerners who are racists themselves who are voting because they don't know anything other than the quote "make america great again"

I know many supporters of Trump. People I'm very close to and love support him and think he'll do good.
I'm not one of those people. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, it's the beauty of freedom of speech.
I support Bernie, I'm feeling the Burn.

I think Trump is playing America. Total troll, he gonna get to elections and withdraw and be like lolNOPE.
It's a foreboding feeling when I think about it.

I want a woman to be president just not Hilary. Not her. I don't consider myself a Democrat but that is who I'm going with this election.

    Thanks for this thread, Betty.

If I had to vote, I would be going for the Bern too. I'm not quite caught up on his philosophy yet, but the way he handles himself is the way I believe a president should act. At the same time, I kind of want to see where Trump goes. I believe hes going to be polar opposites if he wins. Either the best president US has ever seen or the worst/last lol.

    That's how Obama won.

Like someone mentioned, Trump is trolling, I think. Buuut, if he goes through with it, it'll be very interesting. Although, it'd put him at risk?!

Presidential Debate: Thoughts on Trump winning?

As a soldier in the military, we're taught to act respectfully, especially in uniform. We are supposed to represent the good in our country. I believe Donald Trump as president would not be able to do the same. Regardless of how I feel about his politics (I do tend to lean right) I believe he, on multiple occasions, has disrespected woman, minorities, the mentally disabled and religious groups he doesn't agree with.

That being said, I don't like Hilary Clinton.
Bernie Sanders... Well, I like that he is honest. I think the fact checks on his statements have been consistently positive. I don't really agree with a lot of his politics... Many people in my age group seem to think that he has the seeds to the trees that grow money and refuse to to see that his pricy spending-plan raises taxes for all income brackets... Not just the rich. Not to mention raising the minimum wage to $15 will probably deflate the value of the American dollar... Buuuut I don't really want to get into the weeds. This election, to me, seems about picking the lesser of the two evils, and above all else, I want a president who is honest. Not one who disrespects the country I've had my friends die for.

    I love Jess

The guy knows business, granted just like other billionaires he has likely came across his money through less than legitimate means. But he still knows business. There is no concern of him being bought or sold to the highest Big Pharma company. He cannot be bullied into anything. He is an entertainer. I have no sympathy for those who will vote him in and endure his egotistical arrogant rampage.

Another thing is just thinking boy if this bafoon wins how can anyone take him seriously at say an address to the Nation. Seriously lol like on thr tv in the oval office saying "My fellow Americans...". He is always a jokerster, always being rude or condecending. Or if there was a serious event like another shooting. I just do not see him taking those things seriously. To me, he always seems like fuck you all I am the best and nothing bothers me.

As a Canadian I just shake my head. I have no idea what he would do with Canadian relations but I have a feeling the slightest of "sorry we do not agree" from our Prime Minister will send Trump into a berating and 'fuck em' tyrate.

    Interesting.

Anonymous is declaring 'War' on Donald Trump to dismantle his campaign.

Curious to see if this happens or not.

I voted for Bernie. I'll leave my political beliefs and opinions out of why I did so, but I'd be considering every option I can exhaust to leave the country if Trump or Hillary get the seat in the office.

I don't really care who wins as I dont think any of them are good candidates but I can see why people want Trump to win. I think part of it is his iconic image but also the fact he's not a natural politician and people are sick of politicians. I think if Ben Carson was more popular he would have had more of a chance as well.

Trump winning benefits business, especially the business of Trump. Lol.

As for ties to KKK Hillary Clinton and her husband have many ties to them as well. Really they all have their own flaws but the whole hitler thing isn't new to American politics. Just about every president or presidental candidate has been referred to as hitler, a communist, or socialist. My favourite has been the zodiac killer.

Thought I'd like to add if I was American I'd be voting for Bernie.
