I dont believe in 2012. Just like i didnt believe in Y2K. I don't see the world ending like that in our lifetime. But, We WILL kill it before too long.
I heard that Mayas' calendar was ending in 2012, not our world! Everyday, we are making planet feeling worst, but we won't kill it, for the moment...

The running joke on the ending date is that the Mayan's ran out of room on the rock they wrote the calendar on...hence the sudden stop lol.Isn't the background to that something like the Mayan calender ends at that date. There could be numerous plausible reasons why the calendar just stopped.
this at the end of the day really comes down to the person and what he believes in... withers its from a religious point of view, a scientific or on some old calender myth. . . its what you believe is right; some believe it some don't. only way to know for sure is to wait for 2012 i guess :p
hell no..as far as i'm concerned, 2012 just makes a splendid movie idea and nothing more. ofc, with the kind of hits the earths taking it won't be long before it expires.
btw, "long" is somewhere close to hundreds or thousands of years :p
