Oh I know things like that were possible, but her story didn't really make any sense. It must have occurred too long ago for her to remember properly or she still plays!
I used to get all sorts of people by posting in my trades that I was going out of town and needed somebody to watch my pets. I basically social engineered them to send me the first half of their pass then the second. Said it was only fair that they gave me their password since I was giving them mine and trusting them for a week, WHILE paying them when I got back. Ugh, people are so dumb. Back in the good ole days eh

LOL I started like that I think. Then I just used PW stealers and spammed youtube/other Neo sites with them lmao. Then I found out there's actually a community fucked up like me, which made it all easier. <3

My real-life friend told me she scammed on a small scale in the good ol' seat-of-your-pants days when people could straight up scam via neomail and not get insta-iced. She would go on the boards or neomail people with a classic scam where she'd convince people she'd found a way to generate a Faerie Paintbrush from 10 codestones and that if they sent her the items, she'd send back a paint brush the next day. She'd get people to send her a shitload of ets items and then block them. XD

When we were in college she'd just spam the boards with weird bullshit arguments about how my pets were fatasses and stress me out that my account would get iced as she pulled me into her shenanigans.
