(+rep) Need some advice on my PC.

So normally I can solve these issues, because I know and understand, but my friend that I normally brainstorm PC troubleshooting with is busy..
So I need someone who knows what they are talking about.

I just got my new gpu and psu. However the minimum requirements for my gpu is a 750w psu. and I got an 800w.

    My PC specs.

    Intel i5 6500
    XFX 8gb 290x DD
    800w psu
    16gb ram
    3 7200rm HDD (80gb)(1tb)(1tb)

I don't know why it won't run and its driving me insane..

Will it not boot at all? What, if any, beep sequence do you get upon trying to boot?

If you can't get it to turn on, try disassembling the PC to the point you have taken out the motherboard, then assemble again.

I'm glad for that. Just mind be beneficial to keep an eye on your gpu's performance, to ensure it isn't struggling.

You 100% sure all the cables were properly plugged in?

^If yes, I'd say it sounds like a defective psu. It kinda speaks for itself, your brother's 700w works but not your 800w.

Hey, the 700W may work fine but I'd suggest getting a psu with at least the minimum suggested wattage. I fucked up the gfx card on my PC by using a psu which was lower than suggested. Just something to watch out for.

yeah, I have noticed a few weird things happening with it, I assumed its because its under the minimum.. when my friend gets a hold of me tomorrow, I should be able to get a 750 from him tomorrow,. and hopefully some hdds
