Do you regularly "shut down" your computer?

The one i had before was on all day, but it started to act really weird, some things didn't load and it started freezing randomly.
I bought a new one and I turn it off every night, im afraid the same could happen to this one.

My desktop computer never turns off. No way. Unless the power goes out lol.. as for my macbook, that never turns off either. I just close the lid and it goes to sleep. Nuff said.

I always shut mine down. I have this fear of it overheating.

I shut my laptop down when I'm done using it for the day or am going to work. But I am known to let mine idle during the day when I wander away from the keyboard. I don't have an SSD, so keeping the amount of revolutions it has to do down keeps it from wearing out sooner. That's not so much of a problem now with more HDs going to Flash or hybrid Flash form. <- Don't quote me on this, it's been awhile since I've checked things on Ifixit, lol.

When I used to use a macbook/apple desktop I always shut it down, mostly because of overheating issues and because the shut-down/start up was supposed to help it self-defrag. The one good thing about Apple is that it doesn't do stupid things with sub-directories like Windows does (the other was Adaptic Toast, but that's it).

sometimes i forget and leave it on all night, but most of the time I shut it down.

Unless its my laptop then it can be on for days! I know so bad....

My desktop is switched off every night. My laptop I just shut the lid, and my HTPC only ever goes off if the power fails. I never turn my phone or tablets off either. So not really sure why I turn the desktop off.

I turn to off after every use, bit of a habit of mine I like to keep to.

i try to turn my computer off every night. if i leave it on I always restart it the next morning before using it

I didn't in the past, but nowadays my laptop is a potato and it ends up running extremely slowly if I don't shut it down once every 1-2 days

I always shut down my computer... sometimes multiple times a day. I always thought that it was better to shut it down than to leave it on... hmm
