    Multiplication and Division are equal in the order of operations. For operations of equal order, you simply work from left to right. So the answer is 288. 2 is wrong.

    That is incorrect. They occur simultaneously, same as addition/subtraction. Since that's obviously impossible to do in practice, you work from left to right.
