yes it is, i also like to train mine, but creating a new pet for it is good for any user who dont want to show their username for others.

i only use one of my bds and for fighting for codestones but i rarelly rarelly and rarelly do that xD

Participating means actually participating though. If your pet is newbie stats, you won't be getting the bar. There has to be substantial effort in this competition.

What do you mean by "newbie stats" and "substantial effort?" Our pet has to be within the requirements (max 127 HSD), yes? So technically they are newbie stats, if I'm understanding this correctly lol

Oh I'm not going to do that. To be eligible I thought we had to battle with the correct stats anyway. I'm specifically training a pet for this
