I may be able to help you out. I actually work in a neuroscience lab, where we deal with addiction (nicotine included) in animals, and the properties are largely the same. Feel free to PM me or anything, but what I can tell you is that exercise has been shown to greatly curb nicotine addiction. I would advise against the whole e-cig thing or trying to ween yourself off as these are going to be a lot less effective. The whole "cold turkey thing," or as we call it in the lab, extinction, is the most effective technique (aside from say welbutrin or medication). So, be active, drink a lot of water, try to have less down time (time that you may smoke simply because you have nothing else to do), and just set some goals outside of quitting smoking that you can focus on.
