I don't have any advice because I've never been in that position. But I'm sure you will be fine man, stay safe!
I deploy for my first time in less than 2 weeks and I'm nervous and scared as fuck, at the same time. -_-

What's my definition of success?
Creating something no one else can
Being brave enough to dream big
Grindin' when you're told to just quit
Giving more when you got nothin' left

I think those are perfectly normal feelings to have about that.

World tour (I'm in the Navy) with 6 months of it being in the Persian Gulf.
Its always normal to be scared of something that is unfamiliar. You will make so many friends with the people you are deployed with though. Check out these video's.. Maybe they will give you a chuckle.
Navy guys are hot. That is all.

My brother felt the same way about deploying to Kuwait for a year. He's almost done now, spent most of his time there talking on Facebook lol tip for the wise though: don't eat foreign Taco Bell.
It's very natural to be scared of something like a tour with the military. You don't know what you will do over there, and yes, some of it will be scary. I have alot of family though in the military and the training the provide you with will really help you out there. Just use your common sense and trust your gut. It's brave as hell to do what you're doing. People in the military definitely have my respect.
