People see the apple logo and get blinded. You know whats better than a $1,000 macbook? A $1,000 laptop or desktop. Seriously the things you can do on a laptop or pc of that power is crazy in comparison.

If you are going to buy a macbook but don't have a reason other than its Apple , maybe go for a pc if you like all the gui and that stuff get urself a linux partition.

I won't complain much about mine, I got a 2.7k laptop for $800 + the $250 iTunes gift card. Got to love back to school sales & double school discount because it was used within a certain time frame.

Ended up trading the gift card to a friend for cash so pretty much got the laptop for $550, and this was about 2-3 years back~

Fair enough macs are fine if you need a mac , if u haven't tried one I suggest u give one a whirl before shelling out that amount of $.

Recently a family member bought one and I decided to play with Xcode, worst idea ever, makes you want to go run into a brick wall. Windows is like the ring, the one to rule them all.

Yeah if it wasn't for the massive discounts I wouldn't of gone with it as I would of looked at windows laptops within the $800-$1500 range as originally planned. But that was ridiculous to not take advantage of and I'm pretty sure the person that had to ring it all up & call the "higher ups" to make sure it was alright to stack on the discounts hated me after that, oops.

I've used & love both mac/windows so it was more so getting that cheaper that had me go with mac.

I'm not really one for choosing things based on brand name/etc I just go with whatever I personally like.
