    Rats are seriously probably the single best pet on the planet. Smart, cuddly, loving, clean, good with kids, don't make a lot of noise, don't make a huge mess except in their cages and play areas lol, and amusing! The best of every pet rolled into one.

    I'm actually getting a third boy, a dumbo black berkshire, to add to my crew tomorrow Nice to know someone else here appreciates the ratties. And he is super freakin cute. Glad everything is okay with him

    I love rodents. I have hamsters every few years...but they never do the trick And my parents hate rats....but im 19 now so...lol

    Rats only have a life span of 1-3 years Less than a guinea pig. ;-;

    I was considering a rat too, but quickly changed my mind after realizing how short they live. And they usually die of cancer too.
    They're really smart though


    A mouse can live for 4 years, same for a guinea pig. Rats for some reason have a very short life span. Some even die after 1 1/2 years.
