Growing up, the most my parents let me have were two rats. I always thought I'd be a cat person. Until, in my current adult life, I rescued a pup. He has made me a dog person. I just don't think I would get the same affection or the same feeling of understanding my pup gives me. I have a simple cat friendship tattoo, though.

    I love Jess

I like dogs, but adore cats. From reading some of these posts, I now think I've owned dogs disguised as cats. O.o I'm surprised some people think cats aren't as friendly. You should meet my lot!

I currently have three incredibly loyal kitties- a mum and her two babies. There was another baby, but she sadly passed away last year. They follow me around- and I've had previous cats who did too; one used to accompany me on the walk to work!- and are very loving. One is a bit of perv and never fails to greet me when I jump out of the shower, another sleeps on my chest at night (with the other two snuggled on the bed elsewhere), and the other is your typical purring lap cat. The one who passed away used to crawl under the covers at night and curl up right next to me, she was ridiculously adorable.

I do like their independent side, and that they're generally much cleaner than dogs.

The main reason I prefer cats though is that I feel you have to earn their affection, whereas with a dog it just loves everybody and everything anyway.

With a crippling phobia of dogs due to a greyhound attack when I was five... I'm gonna go with Cats.
Though, I'll admit that Pomeranian's and Collies are cute.
