    Physics??

So I'm picking out my courses for grade eleven and the choices I'll make with these courses pretty much set most of the foundation of my post-secondary future...lol

I'm planning on pursuing the Pharmacy program in a couple universities I've got my eye on.
What I'm wondering is, is Physics important in this career path? I was thinking of taking all three science courses (Phys, Bio, Chem) in grade 11 and then narrowing it down in my senior year, but I'm curious as to whether or not I have the option to opt out of Physics entirely (I totally would in a heartbeat I'm pretty sure lol).

Or should I just go ahead and take all three just to keep my options open? I probably would, but I'm just wondering.
    If anyone currently pursuing a bachelors of science could help me out that'd be awesome ;o;

P.S I referred to (you need an account to see links), more specifically the part:

Have completed, or are registered to take this academic year, the courses required for admission to the Faculty of Science: any Grade 12 U English, Grade 12 U Advanced Functions, Grade 12 U Calculus and Vectors, and any 2 of: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Mathematics of Data Management, Physics; and any other Grade 12 U or M course.

Isnt it when you go to college you have a new set of requirements??
so high school has these requirements to pass and college has theres? except you learn in more in depth

I'm taking a college level Physics class for my 11th grade year xD Super fun times coming.

And it my opinion, physics wouldnt be that important for pursuing the career path you're looking at, but with that being said, I would definitely still take it, just not at as hard of a level as biology and chemistry since those 2 will help you out more in your field of study

Yeah, for example Waterloo has university course prerequisites for a separate Pharmacy program, but to take these courses needed to get into the program, I gotta have the high school prerequisites xD

I hadn't seen too many university Physics courses as prerequisites so the prospect of not taking high school Physics at all suddenly became very tempting lol

any 2 of: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Mathematics of Data Management, Physics; and any other Grade 12 U or M course.
It only says you need to take 2 of those so I dont see why you would need to take Physics. I'm sure you dont want to really, but if you did have 3 (or more) of the classes listed where it says 2, it would only help you out. Personally, I would just take one of the easier levels of physics but take a much higher level of Biology and Chemistry to ensure the best attributes to put on the application. It's just 1 year of physics, I know you can do it Besides, you'll always have us to help if you need ~

I took honors and AP physics back in high school, and I haven't had to take anything since. I don't really see physics as being too important in the field youre trying to get into. Maybe if you were going to go into engineering or something like that, of course! But I think bio and chem would be much more important because they things you study are more relevant in a pharmacy track.
Although, if you wanna take physics just to see what it's like, go for it. I loved physics. If youre good in math, you will find physics interesting.

Lol yea it's superrrr tempting to ditch the course haha, it didn't interest me at all
Good point though! That makes sense. I'll probably take university Physics though but drop down to college if needed- that plan hadn't even occurred to me at all until you brought it up. Thanks yo <3

I'm thinking that she doesnt exactly love math from what she posts for a bit of help on here

And you're exactly right though. Like I plan to major in engineering (or something of that sort) so I'm taking AP physics and just honors Bio and Chem since I didnt really need that.

But what it comes down to is if you're interested in it or not

Ayy good point I guess it's pretty important to just try it out...I'm also taking AP functions/precalc so I guess that'll help :o Thanks Drewwww
