I think I was randomly searching for pet-related games online and stumbled over it about 9 years ago. I had had a weird pet dog computer game and was actually looking for something more like that, but got hooked on Neopets instead.

Through McDonald's Neopets promo-period. I got the Shadow Gelert and Green Pteri; thought they were the cutest critters I had ever seen.
That and an artist I liked uploaded their Bori BC entry to DA and I signed up later that day. I don't think I ever voted.

I was researching mythical creatures in elementary school and Neopets was one of the google results. =)

I've been playing neopets for almost 12 years! I actually found it one day when a commercial on TV showed up, I just HAD to try it! ^_^

There used to be commercials of it and lots of merchandise in stores and stuff. That's originally how I found it. As a little kid.
