    how old is too old?

    when it comes to threads, when has one been inactive too long to bring it back to life?

    Ah I see what you mean. Well then, if it's on the first page of the forum, then it's fair game to post. Guides are exempt from this rule if you have a question regarding them. If you do have something useful to say on an old, then there is no age limit.

    It depends really. A forum with 1,000 new posts a day--you're not likely to see old threads cropping up again, especially if they're on page 2 or 3. A slow-moving forum could tolerate a higher threshold of threads being revived, in practicality. However, when you revive a thread that's 1-2 years old, usually the original posters aren't there anymore--so I guess in some sense you can always have a "new" rehashed discussion with new people. But there's usually nothing else to say at that point, with everyone making their points.
