buying a very well known uc (even if its legit and inactive) and your account looks like it has no business having a uc
Buying a well-known account to make as your main (Changing persona while having active NFs=no)
buying a rw account (that gets searched up often) and out of the blue it turning from a shell to a main with uc's in like...a week.

I agree with the whole "buying accounts that are well-known / have neofriends". I bought an amazing main once and it was my first purchase, and I learned some tough lessons from that. I had people neomailing me saying "OH MY GOD HI ASHLEY I MISSED YOU" and everytime I posted on the boards I'd get "OH ASHLEY YOU'RE BACK!" while I was planning to use it as my own personal main. So not fun xD

And still later on, therell grow new trees from him,
with new squirrels skipping about in them. Do you think thats so very sad?"

Buy accounts that aren't well known, and be sure to add a gallery, user and pet lookups, cache both your accounts and the UC's.
Don't go onto the boards with your new pet, like, at all. :3
Just stick to improving the lookup/character/stats/petpet/customization/ect.
It also helps to have a few stamps, some cards, and whatever else you think will make the account look more legit.
I've been buying up UC's pretty quickly, and I have a friends house that I go to for each account because I don't have proxies atm, but if you don't have that option, use a proxy for your new account and pet so that any of your legit mains don't get frozen.
TNT really doesn't seem to be paying attention unless someone reports you, so play it safe and stay hidden for a while until you can get your account looking as legit as possible. (Helps not to buy from shops, or trades or auctions on that account as well, this is another way people can take a snoop through your stuff.)
Good luck, I hope you end up buying your dream pet! :3

I've been buying quite a few UCs lately since the RN/RW trading scene has been rough, and I usually leave them on a shell for at least a month (sometimes more, the most recent one I bought won't be moved until March - but you don't have to wait that long. I just like being thoroughly safe ) Only a few that I've bought didn't have a cache, if the one you buy has one then make sure it updates BEFORE posting on the boards with it.
Safe buying!
