I had this friend and she met this guy online who lived countries away and they grew like really close. She'd already call him her boyfriend even though they had never met. Every time she mentioned him I felt like saying 'you haven't even met the guy how do you know you like him, he might be super annoyinggg/creepy/weird/awkward'. But I like to think I'm a nice person so I never did.

So to get to my point: I think the internet is a great way to meet new people, and amazing relationships can start online. But I don't think you can really judge someone by their online appearance only.

Also, that just goes back to some of the other peoples opinions when they mentioned previously.. You can never trust what a person looks like by the images they show you. Well, unless she Skyped with him or something!
It might sound shallow, but you cannot date someone and expect it to work out if there is no physical attraction or no psychological stimulation.
If she has never met him, how does she know hes not controlling, manipulative or all around a fart? lol Its easy to hide behind a computer screen and lie about who you are..


I like internet dating. I found my last boyfriend online and we dated for a year and a half until we broke up because he decided he didn't want a "serious" relationship. I've been doing online dating for a while again.. I've met a lot of people who are pretty cool, and then I've met a lot of creeps! The only thing about internet dating is that I am afraid of who I will meet.. I worry if they will look like their pictures or if I will totally get cat fished. I prefer to text and talk on the phone, that way you have SOMEWHAT of an idea what the person may be like.

I had this guy I was texting for 5 days. We didn't hang out yet, but after 3 days he stated calling me "Baby" and "hun" and other pet names. I was like, Alright no problem at first... but then... it progressively started getting weird. He started getting more and more attached to me. So, he finally sent me a full body shot and I was immediately turned off. @(you need an account to see links) was privileged to see.. I mean, I hate to sounds like an asshole,but there has to be physical attraction for anything to work! It was day 5 that broke the limit. He sent me this text basically saying" Baby where have you been, I haven't heard from you a lot lately and im missing you like crazy!!" First off, back off because I havent even MET you yet, second off, dont call me baby because we're not dating and I dont even know you. =_= So, right after I tried cutting it off with him and I just didn't text as much and then he got all pissed off and basically said I never texted him anymore because he looks "gross". Which was true! But, I just told him I didn't want to be in a relationship right now because I didn't want to hurt his feelings.... Then he proceeds to ask if I still want to "cuddle with him.. and I was like, ay! friends dont do that!"
He couldn't take a hint and still proceeded to be creepy.
If you /know/ you look gross and are disappointed in yourself, do something about it!!!

Result of story: I had to block him on my Iphone so I wouldnt keep getting his texts.

I think internet dating has it's place, as long as you're careful and don't set your expectations too high then why not.

Just remember that people aren't always who they want you to think they are

Yeah, always live cam or keep your hopes down before meeting them. It's all about the angles, filters, and touchups in online photos.


Had a friend once meet a girl online, she looked fly as hell in pics. Great face, great rack, etc.
In reality she was a WHALE. 250-300 lbs.

Online dating is a bit like gambling, since you don't know who's behind the computer screen until you actually got to interact with them in real life.

I know of a few people who had successful online relationships, one couple in which I knew from my guild in a game and they got married last summer But in my experience I wasn't lucky with my one online relationship (I was 15), it was so bad that I will never do it again. Made me lie to my friends and family and ended up dating a girl who pretended to be a hot korean guy, so technically that made me a lesbian for 3 months >.>
