I just have to say, why does it matter? If you don't like it, don't participate in it. But everyone has their own reasons for doing the things they do.
I used to hate people who drank and partied all the time. I thought it was trashy and disgusting, but then I realized, why does it matter to me? It didn't. Who am I to tell people they're pathetic for the choices they make? And who are you to make comments about these people? You don't know their lives. You don't know how hard some of these people work. So what if they want to get wasted?
It's not your problem.
Maybe you should look to your own faults before you look to others'.
Hey, I think just shoving the community's "customs" (as described in OP) even further in this thread right now is the wrong way to deal with this...not that it's happening right now, but I see what's going to go down...
I understand your frustration opie- it's getting a little trashier up in here but I think that's purely because of the whole TC crew- they're all just basically adults so they can drink and be merry in TC.
I guess the TC influence is leaking into the forum portion of the site though, (is it??idk), since it's a big group composed of some very influential people
I also agree on the Neo thing, but sometimes some people are a threat to cheating players so they need to be taken out :K

Kay, since it's perfectly acceptable, let's do it your way.

And no, I don't like the wannabe gangsta attitude. Never have, never will. This is supposed to be a friendly forum but I guess all the friendly users left for better places; and I don't blame them. My boyfriend, a hardcore gamer, taught me a lot of things. Two of them were:
1) Ask yourself, the way you're acting on the internet, would you dare to act the same offline?
2) There is one simple way to determine if you're acting inappropriate. You may only be one person but multiply your behavior with the amount of people in your country. Imagine everyone behaving the same way you do. Do you think your country would make it for very long? If yes, you're good. If no, maybe it's time to reconsider your actions.
Lastly, my first post was a summary of my experience on clraik for the last few months. Yes @(you need an account to see links) the way you behave is not always appropriate. Just because you had a few glasses to drink you think it's okay to be rude, loud and obnoxious? There are better ways of asking someone to change the music than by saying "Ey man, whats with the shit music?" And the rose guy, imagine you walking into a restaurant/bar w/e and trying to do your job so you can afford to feed your family, and the fucking guests offer you 10 cents! It's not only annoying, it's humiliating! And you're honestly surprised the rose guy complained to the manager? Then you proceed to shouting for food. The pizza man sees a half-drunk loudmouth and his half-drunk loud friends, and he does what he's obligated to do in order to keep his job/keep the reputation of the restaurant: he tells you he finds you aggressive and asks you to calm down, or you'll have to leave. What do you do? You insult him. Genius! The story continues but it's just derp.
I'm not asking people to stop drinking or smoking or cutting or whatever shit you're doing. I'm asking people to behave like, you know, people. Humans. Civilized creatures. Common sense, anyone? Does ANYONE actually got a life outside the computer? Because sometimes I start wondering if any of you actually know how to socially survive in todays society.
Ps. Sorry @(you need an account to see links) if it seems like I'm targetting you only, believe me that's not the case.
You shouldn't take drunken stories seriously. Crazy shit happens when youre drunk, it just happens. I'm sure everybody has had a crazy night like that. Does everybody go out and smoke weed, drink, get in fights, sell drugs, this that allll day every day? No way. But you have to read between the sarcasm and the joking around.
Everybody here, for the most part, is very friendly if you take the time to get to know them. Lots of the time people joke around a lot because maybe it's an inside joke, maybe they are just being stupid, or maybe they are just trying to be funny. I don't know. I'm sure there are a lot of reasons. But everyone here is getting older, and interests change, hobbies change, people change. But underneath all the craziness, if you wanted to have a serious conversation with people.. people are there.
I have had a heart to heart with many people on ck. I have a very busy life outside of the internet and I know MANY of the other members do as well. Sometimes we spend too much time online, but oh well, it's fun and easy to get carried away. That's just how things go sometimes. I don't think it's fair to judge the whole of ones character on certain things, while looking at things from the outside in.
Can you feeeel the loveeee tonightttt
