Have you ever taken a good photo ID/Driver's License Photo? I'm about to go to have my Photo ID switched to the state of Virginia. I moved to Virginia in 2009 but never had my ID switched over. I'm hoping my hair still being raspberry-ish in color won't pose a problem. I was always told that the shirt you wear and the way you have your hair has a lot to do with how your photo turns out. I was told no black shirt because it could make you look to pale if you already have a semi-pale complexion. No white shirt because it can pretty much have the same affects on the photo. No stripes because it could turn out looking like a colorful mess. Don't wear hair up to tightly or I could come out looking bald. I've heard people say they were told not to smile for the photo. I haven't ever had that happen. I hear alot of people complain about how their photo turned out. But I have also looked at their photo and was like what's so wrong with it? And I've even went as far as telling them that it was all in their head and just how they perceive themselves.

NOBODY looks as bad as they do on their Photo ID/Drivers licence but then again, nobody looks as good as they do on their Facebook profile picture

I've not ever not liked my photo. But they gave me the run around today. I show up with everything I knew I needed and left with no new card. I don't ever wear a ton of makeup.

My girlfriend has a photo ID where you can see her grown armpit hair climbing all the way to her shoulders

-Look relaxed and if you're allowed, give a small confident smile - nothing too big and don't show teeth.
-If you're nervous, been sweating or greasy, do a quick wipe on your face to remove the shine (assuming you haven't caked on that makeup).

-Look alert, but not have your eyes wide open like deer in the headlights.



I made that mistake on my last driver's photo; I was staring dead into the camera and lowered my jaw without smiling, so it looked like I had a much longer face than I do and was doing a mugshot as a convict. Definitely going to correct that on my re-new in a few months' time...and try not to mess myself up in another way.

My passport photo was not bad though, unexpectedly.
