[IMPORTANT] Need help with some stuff for a Programming Class! [WILL REP/PAY]

Sorry if this gets a little long/rant-ish but I really need help ASAP preferably by today or tomorrow at the latest.

SO. I am taking Visual Basic Programming (online) for my degree and it is a pre-req for like 4 of my classes I need to finish my degree and I am 100% completely lost already and the semester has just started. My teacher does not fully speak english, so all of the notes and documents are very choppy and hard for me to understand... He is not really teaching us how to do things and my learning style is very visual.

We are supposed to be using a program called Visual Studio to write programs (I think HAHA) and I am having a hard time getting it properly installed on my computer. Does anyone have experience with this program? He also gave me a password for our schools VPN but I have no clue what that has to do with anything with programming... I can copy/screenshot some of his documents if someone wants to take a look and help me. I have NO idea what to do in this class at all since I've never programmed anything. Help would be incredibly appreciated. I will +rep and compensate if you'd like, I just need help. ;~;

If I can get everything installed and get through an assignment or 2, I should be fine. I don't want someone to do this for me but to actually teach me if possible haha.
