I live near Canada. It snows every day basically but you get used to it.

I wish it were snowing in New Jersey, we don't get any snow until December and sometimes we don't get any snow all year
I live in Florida and when it gets below 70 degrees people think the apocalypse is coming....
I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy,
the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world.J A G E R
How about you just dress accordingly in layers,
wipe your butt until you see no skid,
and wash between your cheeks during showers?
-25C all the way to -50C,
although temps beyond -30C are usually only a few weeks per season,
while -40C and below are only a few days every couple of years.
I think -53C to -56C is the worst I've ever experienced in my life, so far.
...wait, why am I telling you this? You're Canadian too.
Long? Yes.
Generally "winter" *cough* snow *cough* is late October to April,
and amongst that, the coldest months are December to February.
There are anomalies every year though, where sometimes you don't see snow until December etc., or there's snow in May/June (but it's weak, slushy snow that melts relatively quickly in those months anyways)
Brutal? Depends on where you live.
The coastal Provinces have more mild climate because of the ocean currents, thus they see less snow, or it's soft snow that melts quickly compared to elsewhere.
The Central & Northern Provinces though...that's a whole different story.
& yeah, Canadians who spend their winters in AZ if they've got money, .
I knew someone whose family also spends the coldest months in Phoenix;
he says the booming of F-16s over his house from the nearby AFB is cool at first, but becomes an annoyance quick.
Maybe if it snowed down there, your local youth could learn to play Hockey so the Pants & Lightning aren't such shit teams.
Can you even go outside if it's -50C? I don't think I can ever remember it being lower than 20F here. How much snow do you get?
Yeah, though it's not recommended by anyone and the only real reasons to go outside in ~-50C are short walking distances to your car or a subway station.
It becomes a bit of a mess for the city during those times, because they have to worry about the homeless bums not freezing over, but generally it's handled well.
But in fairness, if you're bundled up like a marshmallow to take -35C without flinching, then -50C is no different - clothing layers don't discriminate past that extremity,
The problem is few people aside from children actually dress properly in those extreme temperatures. Take me for instance: I think adult snow pants, insulated pants, long johns, and double-wearing pants are lame, so while I wear a puffy insulated jacket, I only wear jeans over my legs. And that's the way it is for most guys here.
Let me tell you, one winter I was walking across campus for about 5 minutes in -48C weather; my upper body was just dandy from my jacket, but waist below...my thighs were stinging from the cold and starting to heat up.

Snowfall also varies. For the outer winter months, I'd say it's about 3 inches per snowfall and during the inner winter months, ~6 inches.
Then you got those occasional blizzards (usually coinciding with the >-35C temps) where you get foot deep snow,
and every few years, even 2 feet of snow. But again, those are few and rare.
It really depends on which part of Canada you live in; I know in Vancouver and BC, they see a lot less snow and it'll never drop to the temps I'm discussing; they're fine just wearing pea coats while prancing around town in January.
