I'd say something 1000 HSD should be enough. with a decent BD set.
can be lower if you got top tier items and such.
pteri, scorchio, kacheek, gelert, elephant those are great.
pteri has air defence
scorchio is resistance for bombs
kacheek has a decent specie healer 30%
gelert and elephant has a decent specie healer 50%
this pets with a decent hsd and weaps are greats !

i will go with kacheek or other that have full healer
If resistances have been scrapped, the best pet is now Lenny, with a cheap healer and freezer to boot. Lupe comes second because the freezer is fragile.
I didnt even know that specific pets had characteristics in the battledome lol, werent they removed with the new BD?
