Do you think Neopets has a future 5 years from now?

i plan to play as long as it's around... i have friends on the site that, even though we don't just keep in touch on neo, i enjoy playing with and seeing on the boards (even if it's planned lol!)

i have slowed down pumping money into the site, though. i used to buy a lot of nc (upwards of 2500nc a month, usually closer to 7500) and about 2 years ago slowed down to about 2500nc a month. i'm now buying less than 1000 a month, which is great for my wallet but not as awesome for them. if they were putting out more effort into their items, i'd be more keen to keep spending.

there used to be something similar to a plot about once a year, and that was when i was most invested... but lately i think they have forgotten what their players like most and have neglected events like that.

tl;dr- i plan to keep playing even though i recognize the site is going downhill.

Thats because the world is become a terrible place, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, so just like neopets all they care about is making money not what the customers want, typical business really

I feel like they could make a lot more money if people (me being one of them) weren't afraid that the site is headed to hell.

I think they've tried so hard to level the NC playing field that everything (for the most part) has deflated in value, and beyond that. It's impossible to get nice UC's without selling your soul or being frozen right after.

If they return more thought out plots. and due away with NC, or keep it only for customization, leave the NC out of plots and other things. they will prob live. ppl loved the wars, the plots like LD plot. sadly the effort into the plots are dwindling.

Even if they took advantage of some of the amazing writers/programmers/users that aren't part of their staff but are regular people, we could probably come up with a better site/plot/etc than they could.

i agree about leveling the playing field in terms on nc. that set a lot of people off, i get that it sucks if you're new and you want extremely high cap items and can't get them, but they took a huge shit on all the loyalists who paid an arm and a leg for them when they were new!

i also think they can totally put nc into their plots, i don't think it affects the dynamic of the plots at all (as a matter of fact, i rarely participate in the nc portions of most sitewide events, i more dabble in seasonal nc events like easter negg stuff and halloween haunted hijinks). it's just an extra piece of excitement for those willing to chuck ~15-20 USD into the site to wake up to a new shitty item every morning.

ps- speaking of nc part of plots, i bet the nc part of this site event with the spooky food contest will be related to "There are also some locked doors that might have rare treasures, but I was never able to fashion keys for them."
