The French and Indian war ended in 1763, Boston massacre was march 5 1770, Boston Port Act was march 31 1774, Lexington and concord was April 19 1775, olive branch petition was also in july 1775, congress adopted the declaration on July 4 1776, battle of Trenton was December 26 1776, battle at Princeton was January 3 1777, Cornwallis surrendered on October 19 1781

Geography impacted the war because since it was fought in the colonies, the colonists were familiar with the terrain, and the British weren't; therefore it gave the colonists a huge advantage. Also, the colonies and Britain were separated by like 3000 miles of ocean so it was much easier for the colonists to get more weapons, provisions, and soldiers since they were fighting in their homeland. If the British needed to send more troops and supplies, it would take weeks for the boats to travel all the way from Britain to the colonies.

George Washington was the main hero in the revolutionary war because he helped keep moral up, making the soldiers want to keep fighting. The fact that he was able to convince a bunch of underpaid and poorly fed men to keep fighting was important. He also used defensive tactics, which helped win the war. Even though the American army did not win every battle, they kept fighting and did not give up, so the British grew tired of fighting. He also led the whole army, and led his men at some of the most important battles in the war, like Yorktown.
