Awww people I'm really getting emotional here! How cute you are! Thank you, I'm already feeling really confy here ^_^ well I see there's a lot of people from Canada! I'll stay 1 year in Lethbridge but we should set up a meeting or something. As if Canada were a small country! I'm happy too see people on my age here. Neopets is not funny anymore, I'm not a child anymore and don't have time to play little silly games -.- I wanna try the dark side, I'm sure a lot of people do and If someday I get frozen (tho I'm not stupid) its ok, 'cause its not more than some pixels...just for fun (when its fun). But I know nothing at all about proxy, abing, these things. Guess I have to seach around and learn
If you think it's cold at 25C, you're gonna have a bad time in Canada...especially in Lethbridge, . Not to worry though, as long as you dress in a puffy winter jacket or sweater under your coat, and carry gloves + scarf, you'll make it. You're gonna be inside most of the time during the winter months, but 99% of buildings here are heated and insulated, so it's not uncommon to be wearing a T-shirt or thin shirt when it's -30C outside. The worst you'll face is when there's a winter blizzard where the dry, frigid wind is blasting snowflakes at your face like small daggers, hence the scarf suggestion. But in Alberta, those days are few, and not suicide as it may sound.
As for ULeth, it's a smaller University in that province, in a small city. It's not really renowned for anything yet; most students transfer to the larger Universities nearby (Like UCalgary or UAlberta) after getting their first 1-2 years done - usually due to the fewer programs offered there. That being said, there are still a lot of ULeth students that finish their degrees there with no regrets; I've met some. Since you've already decided to take ~1 year there, you probably have reason to and a plan, so nothing wrong with ULeth.
Like I said, Lethbridge is a small city (fortunately not a tiny hamlet though), so you won't find many interesting and new things to do every week, unless you're easily amused. You'll likely be limited to staying at your place on the computer or hanging with your peers you meet there during your off-time. When you do go out, I guess it's just going to be restaurants, movies, the bar (again, small city = tamer bars), or shopping (but limited retail in Leth). If quiet and cozy is your cup of tea, then Lethbridge is going to be good for you. If citylife and partying is...you're going to die of boredom.
That being said, you should check out Calgary when you have a few days off. It's about a 2 hour drive from Lethbridge and the biggest city in Alberta, so no doubt it's got more happening if you want to get back in the "city" feel.
Oh yeah, and welcome to cK.
But without NL, there would be no good cheese, Tiesto, Ferry, or Armin!
BE PROUD TO BE ORANGE, M8!

Nooooooo, i'm going to die of boredom T_T yeeah i'm a "city gal" (as Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City likes to say), I don't think I'll like just staying in home. But as you said, Calgary is near so I can "explore" it in the weekends and stay in some hostel for the night! Interesting post tho, it really helped me (and I'm now scaried about the little daggers thing)
