Well its perfect though, I can do my hair and pick out clothes and everything and it's all in one place!

Thanks dear. Best part? Rent is income-dependent, so I'll probably be paying the minimum, which is $300/month.

Are you moving a long distance, or just around the corner type of situation? for example, if you forget to bring something can you go back and get it?

Now that, is freaking amazing. I pay almost $400 right now (and utilities on top of that) AND I have three roommates paying the same as me. What city do you live in?!

Also, congrats on the pregnancy! How far along are you?

Mattress, Boxspring, multiple pillows, baby pillow*, formula, diapers, safety objects.
Baby pillows are the horseshoe shaped pillows that babies use for feeding/sleeping/etc.

    Safety objects include:
    Outlet covers
    Cabinet locks
    Door/Window knob locks
    Edge/Corner guards

In general here's what I brought my first week on my own:

    Dish soap
    Shampoo
    Toothbrush/Toothpaste
    Groceries (mostly dry goods/canned goods)
    2 Emergency candles
    Basic tool set (Wrench/Hammer/Pliers/Screwdriver)
    Duct tape
    Blankets/Sheets/Pillow cases

Most of these things are just in case you're ever in a bind when maintenance can't come out or you need
    to McGuyver something.

Why, yes. The world does revolve around me.

Thanks! I'll be 6 weeks on Monday according to the doc.
And $300 is the MINIMUM for that room. If they wanted to, they could charge me up to $700.
It's all dependent on my income. I'm not sure how they'll determine all of it.
And Dixon, Illinois is where that apartment is.
    I live in Sterling.

I'd tell you a few things to bring myself, but the strong female presence here already has it covered. GL Jo.

Be sure you have in an easily accessible container (i used two duffel bags that I kept in the truck next to me) the items you'll definitely need the first 24 hours:

clothing changes (for you and baby)
    toilet paper
    tooth paste
    tooth brush
    soap
    deodorant
    a towel
    a cup
    a plate
    a fork
    a spoon
    Bottle(s) for the baby
    diapers
    a trashbag
    your phone charger
    a notepad and pen
    first aid kit

assorted baby items (binky, blanket, toy, etc depending on your baby's needs)

It's a good idea to adjust this to your own needs. Keep track of stuff you use everyday and adjust the list. Moving is always crazy that first day or so while you are arranging/unpacking everything. This ensures that you know where everything you NEED that first day is in one place.

    Bathroom needs:
    Hand soap
    Shower items (soap/shampoo/conditioner)
    Shower curtain
    Bath mat
    Bath Towel
    Hand Towel
    Plunger
    Toilet scrub brush
Bleach for bathrooms (I like using Softscrub w/ bleach and Comet w/bleach)
Bathroom sponges (one for toilet/one for sink and tub)
Toothbrush holder (I use a cup)
    Toothpaste
    Floss
