I'm japanese I lived in a small island in Hawaii called Kauai. People thought there are geisha and like samurai a everywhere when I was little. I got lots of hate because I could speak it so I bitched at them to not drive toyotas because Toyota is my homeboy...

And as I grew older and became more " Hawaiian" everytime I went to the mainland America people thought we lived in grass huts and kayaked our way to California....

Isn't Hawaii the most Japanese-populated US State though? I figured it's like whitewashed Japan away from Japan, with a bunch of non-Nippon mixed in the blender too; so locals would be used to the strong Japanese presence by now.
