I dunno, I'm sure that many people do it for that reason, but I'm someone who's gone through a hard time and reached out to my friends on the PC. I've always been careful not to do it around fosters, though, because I don't want people to think of me that way (it's not like I apply for pets all that often anyway). :p

It is literally against Neopets rules to talk about real life issues.
I can't even tell you the number of warnings I've gotten this summer trying to talk to my guild about my grandmother's cancer and passing last week.

So I think that someone who is sincerely looking for help or support is not going to create a board that says, "I'm depressed so trade pets with me." Talking to your friends is one thing. I think that making a board that exploits depression, real or for a sympathy boost, to make a trade, is gross.

And that's one thing I've never done, and never will do. A lot of my friends and I know each other off of Neo too, so we might bring it up on a board, or I might talk to trusted Neofriends about it, but I would never make a board like that. I mean, don't they know how pathetic, and pathetically obvious, that is? I'm so sorry about your grandmother, by the way.

What kind of pet was it that he was trying to trade?
Some people are too picky with Draiks though. They refuse to believe that they're worth the same as converteds, and not UCs. Some only want Draiks swaps to hide the shame of trading for a regular converted.
