    So I'm getting a nose job....kinda

So ever since I was little I had trouble breathing thru my nose so my mouth would always be open like a idiot. My mouth is slightly open as I type this.
I learned that that because the shape of my nasal cavities and my allergy causes my nasal area to be perpetually inflamed blocking air thru my nose. So because I look like an idiot with my mouth open. My mom decided I should get surgery to reshape my nasal cavity.

they are gonna shave my skull.

Not sure how I'm suppose to feel about this. I'm not scared but every time I think of people shaving my bone I think how painful it must be.

I'm at the doctors right now to get consultation.

If you got the money for the operation and it's not a life-threatening one, why not?

Better for you in the long run, a few weeks (maybe short months) of pain recovery vs. a lifetime of correction.

You're not going to know or feel a thing during the operation, they'll most likely put you to sleep with an anesthetic - it's super effective!

    BE A MAN.
    DO THE RIGHT THING.

@(you need an account to see links) - I got nasal surgery before I went to college and it was life-changing. I still have allergies but my overall health is much better. They shaved my turbinates, my septum, and cleared out a cyst in my sinus. I HIGHLY suggest that if you have the insurance/money to take care of it, DO IT.

side note: "shaving my skull" is the most heavy-metal-sounding surgery ever.

From what I've heard from others who had breathing problems and sinus problems, facial surgery absolutely changed their lives!

I very recently (30 days ago) went through nasal surgery, and also had my tonsils taken out. I'm not going to lie, it hurt like a bitch. I threw up from the pain a few times and that, of course, made it even worse.

But I still highly recommend it. I breathe much better now and can actually breathe with my mouth shut. My sleeping has been much better too and I feel refreshed when I wake up.

Can you constantly have your mouth closed? Like unconsciously?

Now I can, yes. I could not before.

@(you need an account to see links) i had a friend w/ the same problem, except his kept growing back so theyd have to go in and shave it every once in a while. he loved the time he had post-surgery, and plans on getting it done again soon.

dont worry about surgery, ur most likely gonna be dead asleep. :3
