Need help, IPhone 3gs Internet connection problems (+Rep)

So basically I was being stupid and I restored my unlocked Iphone 3gs and I guess you aren't supposed to do that or it messes things up...
So I can connect to the internet on the phone but the second you get to far from the router, example: 10 feet, you lose the connection..
It is incredibly stupid an annoying, the first person who can help me get it fixed will get max rep, this is incredibly annoying and I need it fixed...
and to stop you in your tracks, I have already reset it multiple times...no cigar. So I need this fixed now, so please help you wonderfully smart

Apple iPhone DFU mode ( Deep Firmware Upgrade)

    1. Turn off iPhone.
    2. Connect to mac/pc with sync cable / iTunes.
    3. Press and hold HOME and POWER buttons for 10sec.
    4. Release only POWER button, but continue pressing HOME button for 10 sec.
Now iTunes should detect iPhone in recovery mode.

Don't know if this will help, but my iPhone jsut wouldn't turn on for like 6 months. One day I just said fuck it I'll try one last thing, tried this, and it worked perfectly turned my iPhone on and everything. I had it jailbroken and had reset it, so it wouldn't turn back on. DFU mode fixed it all. Hope it helps, and if it doesn't, I'm sorry D: lol

Should have mentioned I did this already/: And when restoring my iphone to the factory settings it automatically does that @(you need an account to see links), it even says it has the latest update installed, but I know it isn't because I have seen them with the newest update and it looks way different, there are different options and it is driving me insane/:

and to add on to what @(you need an account to see links) said, download the latest firmware for your phone (just google iphone3gs firmware, theres a site that has them all) and then download it, once you are in dfu mode and itunes recognizes it like that, hold down shift and click on "restore" and the select the firmware you downloaded and it will restore to that firmware.

Sounds like a hardware problem.... Give it to a museum maybe? Ios 7 is out soon , 3gs is not supported at this point one by one your apps will all start to fail telling you "your not on a supported ios version"... Time to upgrade.
