    So do you guys remember...

When I first joined ck, and I made that post about having an interview for a job I was really excited for?
It was for a desk job at the local arts academy that I volunteer at. Basically, for my volunteer position, I helped out with the children's musicals in both the fall and the spring, and was even recognized as a "director's assistant" in the programs. So that was exciting.

Well, they never called about the desk job and I got hired at Papa Murphy's instead.
Hate it there, but thats a different story.

ANYWAY I just got a call from the director of the arts academy and they want to interview me for a new PAID position.
    And it's the director's assistant
    of the children's musicals.

A JOB THAT I WAS PLANNING ON VOLUNTEERING FOR
IS NOW OPEN AS A PAID POSITION
AND I HAVE AN INTERVIEW FOR IT

    holy fate.
    shit's finally turning around, guys.
think i could juggle 3 jobs and school?

---------- Post added at 09:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:46 AM ----------

    oh my bad
i was called the "rehearsal assistant" in the program.
but it's like, the same job i assume. xD

    Congratz!!!
Always better to get paid for something you love to do.
But I'm not sure if 3 jobs AND school is a good idea

You gotta see how everything will fit into your schedule!
I just finished up setting up my schedules.. pretty happy with how it turned out!
I've got classes through the week, then working on Saturday/Sunday for anywhere from 6-12 hours each day.

    Omg Andy, thats awesome!!
I'll probably have to end up quitting Papa Murphy's or just working weekends.
'Cause I have a night class Tuesday and Thursday nights
and this is Monday and Wednesday
I have Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off though.
    Like, completely clear.
So idk. I could make those my all-out Vemma days to make bank orrrr work minimum wage at PPM's.
    Decisions, decisions.

I went yesterday for orientaion stuff and to pick schedules, and they were like.. hmm, we have mostly weekends left. But that was perfect for me, so I didn't have any problem with that!
Most of my classes are on Tues/Thurs, so that leaves me with lots of time mon/wed/fri. Im pretty happy with that right now. I'm on the waitlist now for one class.. so I just need that to come through so I can get into that section. D:

If you have fri/sat/sun off.. then youre so lucky! haha
That leaves you with plenty of wiggle room to kinda figure out what you wanna do!

Well yeah, and I'm sure that place is busier on the weekends anyway!
Thats amazing, youre going to do great! Ahhhh!

Yeah I'll probably stick with Papa Murphy's for Fridays + Weekends.. Just say no to taking shifts Mon-Thurs cause that would be so stressful.

Yeah, you don't wanna stress yourself out too much by trying to do too much.
That's why I told them to just keep me on the weekends, I don't wanna have to worry about filling shifts in during the week.
And like you said, it's always busier on the weekends, so I'll make more money on the weekends than I ever would during the week!

You could even just tell them that you don't wanna do every weekend, but to just call you up if they need some extra help. I used to do that and it worked out pretty well at my old job!

The thing is, my boss only has two settings when it comes to scheduling.
Either you're on like every day, or youre not on at all.
    She's an idiot.

What exactly are you going to be doing at your job? Just dealing cards for poker? Or do you do other things?

Bleh, that's annoying! I've been lucky in most of my jobs to either be pretty chill with my boss or know them outside of work.
When I worked at kohls, they were a giant pain in the ass. Note to everyone, never work at kohls, they suck!

Maybe you could just ditch that job and look for another one? I know there have got to be places out there who would love some extra help on the weekends!

Right now I'm just going to be dealing poker. I'm gonna be doing cash games, where you can just walk in whenever, get some chips and sit down to play.
Then I'm also going to be doing tournaments whenever they have them. Tournaments are nice (at least from what I can tell so far), because you get a percentage of the total buyins and then I get the hourly wage from the casino, then any tips that the people in the tournament give. So for each "down", which is 30minutes, I could make anywhere from $20 minimum($15 from buyins, and $5 hourly), up to anything..
I might be rambling now, but I thought it was interesting when they were talking about it last night haha
