It's much possible to recover files even after a reformat with programs like EASEUS, as Wrath suggested.
Just don't touch anything else on your wiped laptop to risk further overwriting, and go straight to that recovery shit first.

Definitely check it out, this rebuilds the file trees and everything. It does a deep scan, formatting would have nothing to do with it.
