If both of you are already dating, being told you're hot can be quite fun/exciting to hear, that would probably be a turn-on then.

Like a few others agreed, it's definitely the context that matters.

If some random guy called me hot, I would take the compliment and not really take it to heart - they probably say it to lots of girls.
If someone is CONSTANTLY calling me hot, like that's all they ever say to me, it's dumb and I can't talk to them at all and I probs will lose contact with them real quick because I can't take them seriously.
But if my already boyfriend of a while calls me hot, it's back to being just a compliment & not really weird.

Most girls (from what I've gathered and personal preference) like to be called gorgeous, beautiful, etc. rather than hot because that means that they are actually paying attention to our features, rather than our boobs/ass/hips/body whatevs and that's the only reason I can find that people would call it a turn-off. It's a strictly physical compliment and those tend to not get a starting relationship/flirting very far.

I suppose it depends. Usually I take it as a compliment, but if a guy's being generally creepy (using "the eyes", getting up close etc) and uses it, it bugs the shit out of me xD

I guess it's all a matter of context. Any compliment is a compliment though, and I wouldn't complain about any. Just, gotta be a little more tactful with "hot". Unless she's burning alive. Then she's really hot. And you should be helping her.
