    "Reverse Scamming"/Scamming Scammers via Craigslist???

Ok I hope this is allowed, if its not please remove.
But read the whole thread first and hear me out...

Ok so if any of you have used craigslist before to sell electronics or other expensive items, you've probably run into the very popular "can you ship it to me?" Scam. Basically the scammer offers the seller more than their asking price (+shipping) via paypal if the seller agrees to ship the item (usually to their "grandson" or "nephew").
Then of course the scammer does a chargeback and wins, leaving them with the item and the money.

So my question is...is there a way to get the better of said scammers? Like, knowingly accept the money and just ship them a rock with a tracking number? I know when I've had issues with chargebacks, paypal basically says as long as you give them a tracking number then you'll win the case.

I'm just sick and tired of these scammers and I'd love to make them feel stupid.

I actually ran into this and it was lovely, I went to my local police department and filed a report and stuck it to them. (:

My item still hasn't sold though /cry

I've bought and sold real items with paypal and shipping and had never even heard of paypal chargebacks until I got here. If the person is asking you to ship to a P.O. box or something maybe you should think twice, but with a real physical address it's hard to hide that an item was delivered. Always get delivery confirmation though; it's even free if you buy postage online. Alternatively, your thread can be seen as a way to scam legitimate buyers out of their money by sending them items of lower value than what they want to purchase. I'm not saying this is your intention at all, just that this same kind of action has the potential to hurt people who are not scammers.

A similar hobby is "Scambaiting", which is the same but with 419/Nigerian Prince scammers.

A good site is (you need an account to see links).
